In America people drive on the right side of the road.
In American cars, the steering wheel is on the left side, and you drive the car on the right side of the road. For vehicles with manual transmission the foot pedals are arranged the same way as in the UK - clutch, brake, accelerator.
Vehicles with automatic transmission have only two foot pedals - brake and accelerator. Be very careful the first few times you drive, particularly when entering a highway, or making turns.
