New York on the East Coast and Los Angeles on the West Coast are the popular entry points for most airlines. Washington DC, Boston, San Francisco, Chicago Pittsburgh, Atlanta and Cincinnati are also used frequently.
On alighting from the plane follow directions to the Immigration counter where you must present a valid passport, visa and I-9 provided by your airline. Fill in I-94 before you reach the immigration counter.
Make sure that whatever you say is the same as written on the paper. Please keep the counter foil of the I-94 form you are given very carefully. After checking, Immigration Office will stamp your passport and I-94.
Your passport will be stamped saying:
How long you may remain in the US. (this duration is determined by the Immigration officer). This may not necessarily correspond with the validity of the visa
I-94 describes your status and length of allowed stay. This will be attached to your passport. Keep it safe as its required while exiting the US as well.
Give simple and honest answers to the immigration officer. If you are going to the US legally for a valid reason, there is no need to be scared.
Passport holders of certain countries like the UK/European dont need a visa for a short travel to the USA. Always check before flying.
